All Walt Disney Characters

Do You Like The Disney Channel More Or Disney Movies

To create a complete list of All Walt Disney Characters from the earliest history of the artist and extending through the short cartoons to the full length animated movies and on into human actors or CGI enhanced humans or animals would require volumes of information.  Those who are adult Disney fans go to great lengths to collect trivia on Disney or on one of the unique characters developed by the Disney organization.  Because of the wealth of materials on each of the more famous characters, collectors will often specialize in one character or another.  For instance a person may collect memorabilia about Mickey Mouse, or about Donald Duck.  There are even people who are so specific as to have a collection of Mickey Mouse watches.

Without attempting to present an exhaustive list of Disney stars, here are some of the well-known inhabitants of the Magic Kingdom.

All Walt Disney Characters

Captain Jack Sparrow is the most recent of a parade of human Disney stars.  He's the totally delightful egotistical pirate leader of the Pirates of the Caribbean series of movies including The Black Rose, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.  Also well known from this movie are Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann in supporting roles.

In addition, there are several characters appearing on various Disney Channel shows, such as Hannah

Montana, but it remains to be seen whether they will stand the test of time or popularity with a wider audience.

Animated human characters have been more common that their real life counterparts in Disney movies.  Current examples range from Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Aladdin, and Jasmine, as well as magical humanoid creatures such as Tinkerbelle, Peter Pan and various wicked witches.

So many of the famous characters in Disney are humanized animals that it's difficult to narrow the list.  Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and his family, Pluto and others from the early Disney efforts are the ones the baby-boomers remember.  Then of course, came a whole string of adventures featuring animated animals such as Simba from the Lion King, Lady and the Tramp from the movie of the same name, Abu the Monkey is a fairly popular character from Aladdin, and of course 101 Dalamations from that movie.  Sometimes the animals are treated as talking pets and sometimes they seem to have a society of their own akin to human society.

There are two major subcategories here, the toys in The Toy Story, such as Buzz Lightyear and Woody.  Winnie the Pooh and associated characters are actually toys as well.  Kanga and Roo, Tigger and Eeyore are names known to several generations of kids now.

The other characters are harder to categories.  The magic carpet in Aladdin is one example.  The whole wonderful group of characters from Radiator Springs, including Lightning McQueen, Sally, Tow Mater and Doc Hudson are a popular bunch with youngsters today.

A harder group to characterize is the enchanted group from Beauty and the Beast.  Chip, Lumiere and Mrs Potts are just a few enchanted humans in this favorite story.
